Privacy Policy for Cafedeals
Cafedeals is a mobile app that shows cafés with offers running near you on a map. There are no accounts and no sign-in, and you cannot post content: the listings are curated by our team. The app asks for one permission only, and only when it is needed: your location, so cafés can be ordered by distance. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with advertisers or data brokers.
Who is responsible
This app is published by Viktor Pozdniakov, an individual developer. For any question about this policy, or about data the app holds, write to limedevelopmentcom@gmail.com.
What the app collects, and why
- Approximate and precise location — only if you grant the permission. Your coordinates are sent with the request that asks for nearby cafés, so the server can sort results from closest to furthest. They are not stored in our database, not attached to any account or device identifier, and not used to build a history of where you have been. Because they travel in the request address, they do appear in the server's request logs described below, alongside the IP address, until those logs are deleted. The app works without the permission: decline it and results are ordered from a default city centre instead.
- Ordinary technical request data — like any web service, our server records the IP address, the time of the request, the requested address (which includes your coordinates when location is on) and the device/OS type the network stack sends, in short-lived logs used only to keep the service running and to investigate errors and abuse.
- Map diagnostics, collected by Google — the map is drawn by the Google Maps SDK, which collects its own crash data, performance data, product-interaction data and device and user identifiers, and sends them to Google to operate and improve the map. We do not receive this data. See "Where the data goes" below.
That is the complete list. The app does not access your photo library, camera or microphone. It carries no advertising, no analytics or crash-reporting SDK of our own, no third-party trackers, and does no cross-app or cross-site tracking. It does not collect your name, e-mail address, phone number, contacts, calendar, health data, or payment data.
Where the data goes
-
Our own API server at
api.cafedeals.app— receives the café queries and stores the listings. -
Object storage (Cloudflare R2, served from
photos.cafedeals.app) — holds the café photos that the listings point to. The app only downloads them. - Google Maps — the map itself is drawn by the Google Maps SDK inside the app, so Google receives the requests needed to render the map, together with the diagnostics and identifiers listed above, under Google's Privacy Policy.
- App store platforms (Samsung Galaxy Store, Apple App Store, Google Play) — handle the download of the app itself under their own policies. We receive no personal data from them.
These providers process data on our behalf, in order to run the service. Your data is never sold, rented, or shared for advertising or any other purpose. We would disclose data otherwise only where the law requires it.
How long it is kept
- Location: never stored in our database. Coordinates remain only in the server request logs, and are deleted with them.
- Server logs: kept for up to 30 days, then deleted.
Your choices and your rights
- Location: you can grant or revoke it at any time in your device settings (Android: Settings → Apps → Cafedeals → Permissions; iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Cafedeals). Revoking it does not break the app.
- Deletion: because there is no account, there is no personal profile to delete. If you run a café and want its listing or photos changed or removed, e-mail limedevelopmentcom@gmail.com and we will remove it, normally within 30 days.
- Depending on where you live you may have rights of access, correction, deletion or objection under laws such as the GDPR or the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Personal Data and its Protection". The same address handles those requests.
- Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored on your device.
Security
Traffic between the app and our server travels over HTTPS. Access to the server and to the storage bucket is restricted to the developer. No system is perfectly secure, but we hold no passwords, no payment details and no contact details, so there is little about you to lose.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us data, write to the address above and it will be deleted.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version is published on this page with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will also be noted in the release notes of the app's store listings.
